A collection from a Palestinian fashion designer that shines with resiliency

Palestinian fashion designer Sineen Kharoub participated in Modest Fashion Week in Istanbul with a collection that is rich with meaning despite the ongoing conflict in her homeland.

"It's titled 'From Dust to Light.'" I created it using the Palestinian flag and the designs found on the keffiyeh I'm wearing," the woman declared, reported Africa News.

Kharoub continued, expressing her happiness at showcasing her brand's bridal and evening gowns for the first time at the event, Sineen Haute Couture.

Despite being in the occupied West Bank, her city of Ramallah has seen a lot of stress due to regular Israeli raids, arrests, and killings.

"The situation is dire; there is still fighting all over Palestine. On the other hand, there is still hope, which is why I went with the straightforward logo with the keffiyeh, the speaker stated.

"We have faith in Allah that all will work out. And we fight, we pull through, we never give up. We possess the fortitude to remain and carry on with our current endeavors.

In certain designs, the models wore wrist-tied keys as a symbol of the opening of new dwellings after the war.

The audience cheered and applauded her gorgeous collection.

For me and the entire team, the brand is truly the honored guest. We were inspired by her when we announced this year's theme, according to coordinator Ozlem Sahin Ertas.

"A distinctive fashion call for solidarity," we declared. We wished to emphasize how fashion can bring people together. We are aware that helping one another out is the only path to long-term success.

The esteemed annual Modest Fashion Week features more "demure" and Islamic apparel.

In addition to Kharoub, other designers who contributed to the event's broad range of designs included Sarah Shahade, the American owner and designer of the Citizens of the World brand. | BGNES
