The Twyg Sustainable Fashion Awards are an initiative that recognizes designers who are mindful of the sustainability of their products. It is open to South Africans who are 18 years of age or older.
The awards' mission is to honor fashion that is appropriate for the future in terms of the environment, society, and culture. Twyg founder Jackie May stated, "We need to support the makers, designers, and leaders involved in bringing in the tomorrow our planet needs."
Eleven entry categories are available this year, one of which is the Changemaker Award, for which nominations are not accepted.
The overall winner, selected from all the categories and determined by the judges' scoring outcomes, will get the Changemaker Award and a sizeable prize.
In addition, designers have the option to nominate themselves in the following categories:
