A fresh idea for London Fashion Week in June 2024 has been announced by the British Fashion Council

This Thursday, the British Fashion Council (BFC) declared that London Fashion Thursday (LFW) of 2024 will occur on June 7–9, Friday.

The spring/summer '25 edition, which is being held in collaboration with 1664 Blanc, seeks to spark "a cultural moment" in London by giving a platform to a variety of British designers and brands, with an emphasis on the scope and depth of menswear companies in the country, reported LDNFASHION.

As part of the 40th anniversary festivities of London Fashion Week (LFW40), the new idea will accentuate the creative community and highlight the capital's status as a "world leading cultural city."

According to the BFC, the goal of LFW June moving forward is to give designer brands and the various ethnicities and cultures that have contributed "rich and significant" contributions to the British fashion industry a stage.

In keeping with the new model, the BFC will present a carefully planned schedule of events at the Institute of Contemporary Arts on Friday, June 7th. These events will include panel discussions, an exhibition, and cultural programs inspired by the first three cultures the BFC has selected to highlight this season.

The BFC will investigate three distinct cultures in partnership with three guest curators: Black culture, which revolves around self-love; South Asian culture, which emphasizes pattern, textiles, and craftsmanship; and queer culture, which emphasizes youthful creative voices from the trans community.

A retrospective installation will be built to commemorate LFW40 and the fashion show's success.

The "40 for 40" calendar, which consists of 40 activations including conferences, parties, and catwalk displays presented by top British businesses and designers, will complement this.

In addition, on Sunday, June 9, the BFC will occupy the Groucho Club to offer designers and companies a vibrant activation area.

The immersive program aims to provide visitors with novel experiences and opportunities to explore the city and brands.

"As we continue our celebrations of LFW40, we are thrilled to share a new concept for LFW June which will amplify our designers and promote the diverse menswear businesses," said Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, regarding the upcoming season.

"Our goal is to build on this by honoring and celebrating some of the cultures that have made significant contributions to the UK fashion industry each year."

"The discussions we have on a regular basis with the BFC community (designers, media, UK and foreign retailers) directly led to the creation of the new format".

"We want to make sure that we are understanding our designers' business needs and giving them access to a global platform for showcasing that is both useful and relevant."

"During Men's Fashion Month, this iteration of LFW is a really exciting opportunity to future proof and innovate the UK's capabilities to showcase fashion and highlight the city's point of difference."

"We are excited to introduce this new format with 1664 Blanc's support"./BGNES
