After having children, Rihanna claims that fashion has aided in her inner "rediscovery"

After having two children, Rihanna said to the BBC that she has experienced a personal "rediscovery" that has lead her to be able to wear stylish clothing in public once more.

The singer admitted that after giving birth to her second son last year, she became "too comfortable" in sweatpants and pajamas.

Fashion becomes "the least important" thing after having kids, according to her.

However, she claimed that being dressed up "does something for you as a woman" when addressing the London audience at the premiere of her most recent partnership with Puma.

Riot Rose Mayers, born in 2023, and RZA Athelaston Mayers, born in 2022, are the multi-Grammy Award winner's kids with rapper A$AP Rocky.

"With the first pregnancy, I feel like I was able to wear heels all the way through," she stated.

"However, after the second pregnancy, you have a toddler, a tummy, a coat, and a baby bag—it's wintertime." You're in heels, what? Well, perhaps not. I became a little bit more inventive with my casual approach because of this.

"After having my second child, I became overly comfortable and lived in sweatpants, robes, and pajamas."

"And I'm playing now once more. I'm enjoying my attire right now."

Days after being sighted at the Coachella music festival in California, the celebrity attended the event in London on Wednesday.

She stated that she has "a rediscovery" and the freedom "to even allow myself that space mentally to approach my closet and create stuff" since she is back in the spotlight and thinking about design.

"After having children for a while, you start to feel that this is the least important and silliest stuff. It's not that crucial, really.

"But it does something for you as a woman, and as a mum that's important for us."

The celebrity received recognition for breaking fashion conventions by forgoing traditional maternity attire while she was expecting.

She told BBC News, "I approached it like everything else I approach in fashion." "I just want to carry out my plan. All I want to do is fix things and add my own unique spin to them.

"But honestly, I just refused to purchase maternity clothing." Whatever fits is what's going to work, I thought. And that inspired me to push myself to become stylishly witty."

Vanessa Friedman, in The New York Times, stated that Rihanna "has a history of consciously using her own physicality and profile to force reconsideration of old prejudices and social conventions about female agency and beauty" in reference to the singer's maternity style.

Although several of her looks, both before and after her pregnancy, have referenced high fashion, Glamour has called them "accessible" because they feature commonplace attire.
Rihanna had made "it OK to still enjoy the fashion styles you loved wearing prior to becoming pregnant," according to Venesa Coger of Refinery 29 who spoke with the Guardian in 2022.

The 36-year-old celebrity hasn't released an album in 2016 and has been less active in the music industry lately.

That hasn't stopped her from becoming a self-made billionaire; Forbes estimates her net worth to be $1.4 billion (£1.12 billion).

Her two most successful businesses are the lingerie line Savage x Fenty and the skincare and makeup line Fenty Beauty.

In 2022, she made an appearance on the lead single for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Soundtrack, Lift Me Up, among other songs.

During her first live performance in over five years, the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, she announced her second pregnancy. With over 121 million people, it became the most watched half-time show in the history of the event. /BGNES
