Amer Sports is advancing the circular economy by partnering with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation

The outdoor and sports industries will have a circular future. Amer Sports is dedicated to spearheading the shift towards a circular economy, which eradicates waste and pollution, recycles materials and products, and revitalizes the environment.
Working together is essential to advancing the circular economy. For this reason, we are pleased to declare that we are now formally a part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's Network, an international nonprofit dedicated to creating and advancing the circular economy as a means of addressing some of the most pressing issues of our day, such as pollution, waste, biodiversity loss, and climate change.
Sports and sustainability go hand in hand because every action you take has an impact on the environment. Speaking with Nikki De La Cruz, Director of Global Sustainability at Wilson, who also oversees our partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, "embracing circular design and business models isn't just about scoring environmental points—it'sabout safeguarding both people and the planet and recognizing that our actions today determine the game plan for future generations."
By becoming a member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's Network, we join a thriving community of innovators, government agencies, business leaders, and geographical areas who are all driven by the same objective of accelerating the world's shift to a circular economy and tackling shared problems.
De La Cruz states, "We aim to be not only a Network Member but a true partner in advancing circularity within the sporting goods industry by working with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and our peers in the Network."
Arc'teryx has also declared its participation in The Fashion ReModel, an initiative of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. The goal of this international project for the apparel industry is to find ways to scale circular business models and get past obstacles.
In order to promote sustainability and innovation in the fashion industry and establish circular business models as the standard, The Fashion ReModel collaborates with industry leaders from high street and luxury brands as well as other leaders in the field. Among the early adopters of this Foundation-led initiative is Arc'teryx.
"Arc'teryx is dedicated to a circular future. We make long-lasting products and provide our guests with the knowledge and resources they need to keep their equipment in use. Dominique Showers, Vice President, ReBIRDTM at Arc'teryx, says, "We're thrilled to be among the first participants in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation demonstration project, The Fashion ReModel, to reimagine circularity for the outdoor industry, rethinking the way we approach design and waste to build a future in which everything we create can be given a second life."
Arc'teryx has made great progress toward its recently declared climate targets and commitment to becoming a net-zero company by 2050 or sooner by taking part in The Fashion ReModel.
