A modest black suit and a white ‘Global Feminist’ T-shirt were worn by Broken Glass vocalist Annie Lennox, 69.
Lennox told PA news agency: “Global feminism is a way forward because there is inter-sectionalism,” of her costume.
"If we fight among ourselves, if we're too singular in what we do, we lack solidarity, which we need."
According to Lennox, "Global feminism is an umbrella phrase for all sorts of feminism, therefore we need a safe environment where we can all come together, all shapes, sizes, colors—everyone—to say we work for the world.
We're striving to improve young girls' lives in a world where the future is uncertain. I think supporting each other is the greatest solution.”
She lauded Green Carpet Fashion Awards creator Livia Firth as “positivity on steroids” with a “deep understanding and passion about climate justice, the fashion industry, and ecology”. /BGNES
