At Last, Katie Holmes Is Falling in Love With Vintage Style

One of the most important fashion designers in the world, according to many, is Katie Holmes. The actor is one of the few well-known figures who dresses in “clothes” rather than “fashion.” Her clothes are straightforward, friendly, and frequently reasonably priced; she seldom wears anything except ballerina flats and jeans, which are the epitome of the everywoman with the soft power to start an APC partnership.

Holmes is more likely to be sent and consequently photographed in new-season Toteme, Khaite, and Nanushka than peruse the archives of Vestiaire, which may seem strange for someone whose relationship with clothing is so highly valued. Nevertheless, there aren't many examples of Holmes wearing vintage. That could soon change, though, as Holmes was snapped earlier this week at the Blink Twice after-party in New York wearing a pin-check jumpsuit from Jean Paul Gaultier's 1995 spring-summer proposal—the same line that originally sported Madonna holding a small dog in an antique stroller during its Paris debut.
