British fashion icons "take over" Blenheim Palace

World-renowned designers and brands, from Dame Vivienne Westwood to Stella McCartney, showcase their work at the historic British residence Blenheim, Oxfordshire.

Each brand has taken over one of the palace's rooms for the "Icons of British Fashion" exhibition, the BBC reported.

In the past, the 300-year-old building has hosted many fashion shows, photo shoots and fashion shows, some of which have been attended by royalty.

The exhibition continues until June 30. It celebrates fashion from the past to the present day, offering bespoke designs and services from renowned names in the industry.

Every corner is dedicated to a British fashion icon.

The Great Hall will feature the designs of the late Vivienne Westwood and her creative partner Andreas Kronthaler.

Works by brands such as Christian Dior and Barbour will also be on display.

Kate Ballenger, curator of the palace and collections, said the exhibition had been years in the making.

"We are privileged to collaborate with such amazing British designers and celebrate creativity in the UK fashion industry. Our Palace is the perfect backdrop to showcase the lasting influence of British fashion on the world stage over the years," she said. /BGNES
