Celebrating Diversity and Sustainability at Milan Fashion Week's End

A recent fashion week in Milan culminated in a gala event at the Teatro alla Scala that emphasized sustainability within the business. The first-ever green innovation awards were presented at the event. These awards were created in 2017 to highlight companies who were making major efforts to improve their environmental footprint, reported One Green Planet.

In addition to these environmental honors, Italy hosted the second Black Carpet Awards ceremony to honor the accomplishments of individuals of color in a variety of industries. Supermodel Maria Borges of Angola and British fashion designer Ib Kamara honored celebrities including actor Alberto Malachino and shot-putter Danielle Madam. Justin Randolph Thompson, the creator of Black History Month Florence, and educator Cinzia Adanna Ebonine, who advocates for inclusive education, were also recognized. As the creator of the first haircare line for curly hair in Italy, Alice Edun made history.

A significant number of award recipients opted to give addresses in Italian, demonstrating their complete assimilation into Italian culture. Adanna Ebonine stressed the significance of acknowledging young professionals from other countries in Italy, saying that this goes beyond merely classifying them based solely on race. Before the evening's events, fashion icon Anna Wintour was there to commemorate the honorees. Michelle Francine Ngonmo, the founder of Afro Fashion Week, introduced the awards and stated her wish for future increasing sponsorship to offer cash prizes.

Ferrari's luxury apparel line included cutting-edge designs that drew inspiration from motor engineering in the fashion department. Rocco Iannone, creative director, exhibited velvety leather pieces that brought to mind sports car interiors and jeans with textured pinstripes. He underlined that the foundation of their creations is performance and craftsmanship.
