China fosters economic growth in sustainable fashion

According to a Spanish expert, the Chinese government is attempting to encourage economic growth in a sustainable way.

According to Pedro Nueno, an IESE Business School professor, the Chinese government is concentrating on all sectors, not only those in the business sector that are growing extraordinarily.

Shortly after China's top legislative and top political advisory body's annual sessions, also known as the "two sessions," ended, Nueno was interviewed by Xinhua.

The growth of the private sector and the welfare of private businesses are two topics receiving a lot of attention at this year's two sessions.

The government work report issued by the national legislature stated that "state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, and foreign-funded enterprises are all important forces in China's modernization."

According to Nueno, who is also the founder and honorary president of the China Europe International Business School, taking such an official stance is essential because it contributes to the long-term equitable distribution of earnings across the country, which ultimately benefits all businesses.

According to him, foreign-funded businesses, particularly those from Europe, can improve their stability and growth prospects by actively participating in the Chinese market. He also added that China and Europe gain from the global business expansion of Chinese enterprises.

In both of this year's sessions, the pursuit of universal prosperity was emphasized as a crucial aspect of Chinese modernization.

"One clear objective of the Chinese government has been to reduce poverty in China and this is something that has been achieved," Nueno stated.

Regarding misconceptions about China in the West, Nueno claimed that unfavorable perceptions of China may be eliminated by watching the two sessions.

"It showed that the country is being well run," he stated. "It is opportune to show how things are being negotiated and done well." /BGNES
