The eBay Circular Fashion Fund is returning and expanding globally, inviting innovative businesses to apply for funding that supports circular fashion initiatives. UK-based winners can secure up to £50,000 in funding and a chance to pitch for an additional $300,000 investment while vying for the title of “eBay Circular Fashion Innovator of the Year.” In collaboration with the British Fashion Council, eBay aims to highlight businesses transforming shopping and perceptions of circular fashion.
Circular fashion refers to a sustainable model where clothing is continuously rehomed, repurposed, and recycled to minimize landfill waste. This fund supports innovative businesses that leverage technology to influence consumer behavior and enhance the circular economy in fashion. Eligible applicants must be registered companies in the UK (not sole traders), trading for 6 months to 6 years.
Selected applicants will receive funding, mentorship from industry experts, and networking opportunities. The application process opens on October 16, 2024, and closes on November 15, 2024. Shortlisted candidates will pitch to a panel of experts on December 5, 2024, with winners advancing to pitch to eBay's global leadership team in March 2025.
Judging criteria include the ability to use emerging technologies, unique value propositions, and the potential for immediate and long-term impact on the planet. Quality and completeness of applications will also be evaluated.
