EU Ends Antitrust Probe into Fashion Designers

The European Union has closed a two-year antitrust investigation into several fashion designers due to "priority reasons." Initiated in May 2022, the probe followed raids on fashion companies suspected of price manipulation. This suspicion arose from a 2020 open letter by designers advocating for industry changes to enhance sustainability. The EU Commission stated that while the investigation is closed, it could reopen if new evidence emerges. Companies found guilty of antitrust violations could face fines up to 10% of their global turnover.
