After four decades in fashion, the catwalk queen is doing her own show.
The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is launching 'NAOMI: In Fashion', a celebration of the model's long-standing career. The exhibition, which opens in June, will showcase memorable designer outfits worn by Campbell, one of the world's most recognisable models and black women.
The event will feature about 100 looks and accessories from the biggest names in fashion, from Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana to Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and many more, People reported.
Highlights include a corset inspired by Thierry Mugler's 1989 car made of plastic and metal, a bubblegum pink Valentino gown with a feather cape that Campbell wore to the 2019 Met Gala, and Vivienne Westwood's astonishingly high platform shoes worn by Campbell during her famous fall 1993 runway show.
Part of the exhibition focuses on Campbell's personal and professional relationship with the late Tunisian-born designer Azzedine Alaya, who opened his Paris home and studio to the young Campbell. She inspired his work while he helped develop her career.
The exhibition will run from June 22 to April 2025. /BGNES
