In Rome, Anne Hathaway elevates the shirtdress to the height of glamour.

When Anne Hathaway walked out in Rome last night, she effortlessly transformed a traditional shirtdress into the perfect red carpet standard, HarpersBazaar reported.

The actor was spotted leaving the opulent Bulgari Hotel in the Italian city while sporting a brand-new all-white outfit. Creative director of Gap Inc. Zac Posen created a long, pristine white bespoke shirtdress that was the focal point of the ensemble. The sleeveless, collared garment has beige buttons running down the middle, which Hathaway left unfastened on the lower half.

Hathaway gave the floor-length dress a red carpet twist by wearing it over a revealing white corset bodysuit, even though it would have been appropriate to wear on the streets of New York City or on the beaches of Cannes in the spring. The see-through bodice, white boning, and cupped bra of the strapless corset were all featured. Hathaway wore pointed white shoes to carry off the monochromatic look.

Her Bulgari jewelry, which included a stunning white diamond choker with a large sapphire in the center, matching diamond cluster earrings, a wraparound diamond bracelet, and other diamond and sapphire rings, was what really made the ensemble stand out. Her dark hair fell down in sleek waves, and she had a shiny nude manicure and radiant pink makeup on.

Hathaway is in town to see the Aeterna High Jewellery Collection runway presentation and premiere in the Italian city, which also happens to be Bulgari's 140th anniversary celebration.
Hathaway is currently promoting her latest romantic comedy picture, The Idea of You, by going on an elegant globe tour. She made a splash at her film's New York City debut just a month ago, wearing a candy-apple red corset gown with some daring cuts. /BGNES
