In two outfits, Priyanka Chopra demonstrates how the peplum may imply high luxury

Priyanka Chopra is spearheading the official return of the peplum, in case you missed the memo.

Putting her own glossy spin on it this week during a run of events in Rome, the Citadel star brought the trend back to life.

She left the Bulgari Hotel on Tuesday night wearing an iconic Armani gown in molten black with a plunging V mesh neckline and a draped waist attachment that fanned out into a peplum. Chopra accessorised her glittering ensemble with a range of Bulgari jewels adorned with diamonds and sapphires, including as a sapphire pendant necklace and cuff bracelet, in addition to strappy black Christian Louboutin heels.

Chopra modeled the new items alongside other brand ambassadors Anne Hathaway, Liu Yifei, Shu Qi, Hikari Mori, and Alessandro Gassman during the launch of Bulgari's newest high jewelry collection, called Aeterna, the night before, reported Harper's BAZAAR.

She donned a custom-made black and white gown by Del Core for the event, which included sculptural off-the-shoulder sleeves, a black floor-grazing skirt, and a white corseted bodice with a peplum fit.

Chopra continued after that. Around her neck hung the magnificent Serpenti Aeterna necklace, a dazzling display of diamonds with seven 140-carat diamond drops and 698 61.81-carat diamond baguettes. According to a press release, the unique piece took over 2,800 hours to build and has an eye-watering $43 million price tag.

Even though Chopra pulled off a stunning Roman fashion show with ease, she can also pull off a casually stylish outfit when she's not working. She was seen on Monday, for example, strolling around the Italian city while sporting taupe sneakers, a light brown blazer, and a maxi dress made of light grey fabric./BGNES
