Julia Fox and Emcee Took Brooklyn "Down the Drain"

New York fashion is already mastered by Julia Fox. What's on the list after that? Bitch, the clubs!

The much awaited debut single of our favorite downtown fixture, "Down the Drain," which was teased at Charli XCX's sold-out Boiler Room set earlier this year, has finally dropped. Presenting in association with the social media and fashion platform Emcee Studios, PAPER learned about Fox's latest film and the numerous designers featured therein, all of whom are fully shoppable on Emcee, rported PAPER.

In "Down the Drain," Fox plays a dominatrix, a teacher, a pro-fighter, and—above all—a mother. (To everyone, of course, but especially to Valentino, her son.) With effortless transitions between styles and moods, she sings, "I'm a bitch/ I'm a girl/ I'm a mother/ I'm a whore!" while the beat of the song pulsates.

In addition to filmmaker Ben Draghi, Richie Shazam, Alexandra Harris, Sara Apple Maliki, and Valentino himself are featured in her debut video. Collina Strada, SEKS, and a plethora of other brands—0770, A Better Feeling, Beepy Bella, By Far, Dion Lee, Han Kjøbenhavn, Hat and Spicy, Isamaya, KNWLS, Laruicci, Lirika Matoshi, Madomorpho, Namilia, Panconesi, Private Policy, Sami Miro, Sonia Carrasco, and Zana Bayne—are just a few of the brands that contributed styles for the video. (The complete list is available on Emcee's site here.)

Fox discussed this next stage of her career and her collaboration with Emcee with PAPER. She wanted there to be a "super villain chic" vibe to the video. Regarding her most recent professional move, she continued, "My first love was music." or second, following sugar. I told my mom I wanted to be a rock star when I was little, but she kind of laughed and told me it would never work out, so I never really pursued it. When she was on her book tour years later, she had the same epiphany. "I went upstairs to Ben's studio knowing I would have an audience, and we made this little song in less than an hour while my son was napping, and the rest is history". | BGNES
