Khushi Kapoor on sustainable fashion: “I believe less is more”

Khushi Kapoor, the youngest daughter of late actor Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, is not just making waves in Bollywood with her debut film, but also emerging as a frontrunner for fashion. Unlike many celebrities who chase the latest trends, Kapoor embraces a more conscious approach, opting for timeless pieces and reimagining existing outfits.

Kapoor's sustainable choices extend beyond red carpets. She's a firm believer in the power of restyling.  In an interview with Elle India, she stated, “I think you can wear the same dress a hundred times and make it look different with accessories.” This philosophy aligns perfectly with the growing movement against fast fashion, which is notorious for its excessive production cycles and environmental toll. By advocating for outfit repetition with a twist, Kapoor encourages fans to see their wardrobes in a new light, maximizing the use of existing clothes and minimizing the need for constant purchases.

Her personal style reflects this philosophy as well. Kapoor has a soft spot for 90s fashion, a trend that inherently promotes sustainability by giving new life to vintage pieces. In the same interview, she mentioned, “I believe in less is more. A simple black bag can elevate a look in so many ways.”

She also revealed, “I carry my water bottle with me every single day. There are also so many old clothes that I recycle and reuse in different ways.”

On the work front, Khushi Kapoor will star alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan in a Dharma Productions rom-com and another project with Junaid Khan.
