Malia Obama debuted as a filmmaker at Sundance earlier this year, and she seemed to be settling in nicely. The 26-year-old former first daughter had time for a brief fashion moment while screening her short film, The Heart, on the red carpet of the Deauville American Film Festival in France.
Malia went all out for her red carpet look in France, with an asymmetric skirt, chunky boots, and a plaid Vivienne Westwood bodice, whereas she chose to go behind-the-scenes at Sundance, reported The Cut.
Malia, who appears in the 18-minute short without a last name, has been employed in the entertainment business for nearly ten years, having previously worked as a writer for Donald Glover's Swarm and, at the age of seventeen, as an intern for HBO's Girls. (The Heart was created by Gilga, Glover's production firm.)
Malia described her emotions as "a little bit terrified but mostly excited" when speaking to a reporter on the red carpet. She referred to her ensemble as "Vivienne Westwood." Queen. Although I don't know much about fashion, I like what I'm wearing.
