Planning a big event in New York, Giorgio Armani turns 90

Giorgio Armani turns ninety-nine on Thursday, but the Italian designer isn't sitting still—instead, he's getting ready for a big event in New York this fall.

Without a doubt, he is closely supervising the arrangements and painstakingly planning every detail. He hasn't let age stop him from taking on new challenges globally or expressing his artistic side, as evidenced by the stunning and captivating Armani Privé collection that was unveiled in Paris at the end of June. Last September, at Venice's international film festival, Armani hosted another One Night Only event that brought celebrities like Jessica Chastain, Kerry Washington, and Sophia Loren.

The designer is anticipated to go to New York in October to commemorate the grand inauguration of his company's newly renovated Madison Avenue structure, which has apartments, an Armani/Ristorante, and the brand-new Giorgio Armani and Armani/Casa stores. Armani has chosen to present his namesake brand's spring 2025 collection in New York rather than Milan, coinciding with the reveal. On October 17, the fashion show is planned, and it will be followed by a party that is expected to draw many of the designer's close acquaintances.
