Selena Gomez Attends the Time100 Summit with a Matrix Moment in a Figure-Hugging Leather Look

Selena Gomez is making a successful attempt at edgy fashion.

The 31-year-old singer and actress wore an all-black outfit with a Matrix-inspired look to the Time100 Summit in New York City on Wednesday, April 24. The star of Only Murders in the Building looked amazing as ever wearing a black dress with a leather corset bodice and an oversized black leather jacket. Black cat-eye Linda Farrow sunglasses, open-toe shoes, and delicate jewelry by Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry were her accessories, reported People.

Gomez's stylist Erin Walsh revealed on Instagram that her jacket is by Ducie London and her dress is by Brandon Maxwell. Her chic Black Suede Studio shoes are on point.

The celebrity had a sophisticated and understated makeup look with her shoulder-length hair fashioned in an easy blowout.

Gomez appeared to address reports during the event that she was leaving her position as head of the Rare Beauty cosmetics line.

"I don't believe I'm leaving. During an on-stage Q&A, she said, "I am enjoying this a little too much," and that the firm is her "pride and joy."

The 2020-launched brand is dedicated to eliminating the stigma associated with mental health and donates one percent of sales to the Rare Impact Fund, which helps young people gain access to mental health treatments.

During the Summit, Gomez stated, "I didn't want to really enter the cosmetics world without a mission." "Within this brand, it was actually a dream come true, and we were able to make hopefully decent products on top of it."

The former Disney employee just went public to celebrate the release of Rare Beauty's newest item, Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush. She embraced another monochrome ensemble for the April 6 event, wearing a silky pink button-down dress with a faint paisley pattern. She opted for a casual style by draping a baby pink cardigan over her shoulders and accessorizing with pointy pink heels embellished with little ribbons.

The Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush, like all of Rare Beauty's products, has shade names like Cheer and Happy that are associated with mental health and optimism.

Gomez told PEOPLE at the time of the product introduction, "I love that our product names serve as little #rarereminders, each named after a kind word. I firmly believe that positivity is contagious." "I’m very proud that our brand purpose extends to our product names and reflects our company values."

"We want to create dialogue, give people access to resources, and give them a stage on which to tell their stories," she went on. We want people to understand the importance of mental health and that everyone is deserving of kindness and assistance".
