Stars attend Dior's first fashion presentation in Scotland since 1955

Dior, a French fashion label, is holding its first catwalk display in Scotland in nearly 70 years.

For the show, which took place in the gardens of Drummond Castle near Crieff in Perthshire, Dior drew inspiration from Scottish history. Notable attendees included Rosamund Pike, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jennifer Lawrence, reported BBC.

The last time the brand staged a runway show in Scotland was in 1955, when designer Christian Dior staged two fashion events, one at Glasgow's Central Hotel and one at Auchterarder's Gleneagles hotel.

The "Versailles of Scotland" served as the backdrop for the French castle grounds in the television series Outlander, and it was the location of the Cruise 2025 event on Monday night.

Inspired by the setting and paying homage to the Auld Alliance between the French and Scots, Dior design director Maria Grazia Chiuri began the show with tartan ensembles and concluded it with a procession of pipers.

In order to create her designer pockets kilts, she spoke with Harris Tweed and Johnstons of Elgin, two Scottish fabric manufacturers, and Samantha McCoach of Le Kilt.  | BGNES
