Advanced materials manufacturer AMSilk has completed an independent cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment which it says shows that fibres made with its biodegradable silk proteins have a significantly lower environmental footprint compared to standard silk.
AMSilk's biodegradable silk proteins claim the same high-performance properties as real spider silk and can be used in applications including high-quality fashion, smart materials, automotive fabrics and medical devices.
