Every November, the Taiwan Hanfu Festival brings together hanfu fans from all over Taiwan, including Zhong, at Hsimenting, a well-known Taipei shopping area. From little over 100 attendees in its first year to over a thousand in its fourth, the event has grown tremendously.
Zhong stated that Taiwan has a strong Chinese cultural heritage and that people who live there on both sides of the Taiwan Strait use the same Chinese characters and observe the same holidays. He intends to tour the Chinese mainland, stopping at historical sites while dressed in authentic Chinese attire.
He claimed that despite Taiwan's present "de-sinicization" program, people are keen to learn about and are willing to research their own past./BGNES
