The 'Seoul Fashion Road' runway event features the newest trends in Korean fashion

People were avidly examining the newest Korean fashion trends despite a sudden downpour. On Friday, over a thousand people flocked to Songpa District in southern Seoul to see the inaugural "Seoul Fashion Road." The event took place on the eastern side of Seokchon Lake. The Seoul Metropolitan Government arranged the first-ever fashion display by the lake, featuring clothing created by Korean designers, reported Korea JoongAng Daily.

One hundred models, dressed in Korean labels such as Han Hyun-min's MÜNN, Shin Hye-young's Wnderkammer, and Seo Byun-mun and Um Ji-na's Bmuet(te), sauntered smoothly down the about 250-meter (820-foot) coral outdoor runway.

500 carefully chosen residents were invited to the ceremony by the local government, and they were seated in the front rows. This fashion show differed from others in that influencers, celebrities, and significant buyers are not allowed in the front rows.

More than 5,600 residents vied for complimentary event tickets. The chances of the chosen folks being seated were 11 to 1, according to the Seoul municipal government, thus they were quite fortunate.

Just before it started to rain, there was a classical music concert before the fashion presentation, when the trio Layers Classic performed.

The MÜNN collection, which embodied the brand's idea of "making things unfamiliar," opened the fashion presentation. Wnderkammer's 2024 autumn and winter collection came next. The collection was named for a line from writer Jack Kerouac's 1957 novel "On the Road": "See you down the road."

Last to walk the runway was Bmuet(te), displaying their concept of "Beautiful Nightmare." Even though there was an unexpected downpour during the presentation, the audience's passion for fashion was unaffected. The audience remained, and the show continued.

In a "panoramic scene," as the Seoul Metropolitan Government put it, all of the models came together in the middle of the runway for the finale, with Lotte Tower and Lotte World behind them.

According to Jang Young-min of the Seoul city's Creative Industry Planning Bureau, "starting with 'Seoul Fashion Road,' various projects to promote Seoul's tourist attractions and the value of K-fashion will be planned to make Seoul a 'global fashion city' that overseas tourists wants to visit to enjoy fashion content". | BGNES
