The carbon footprint of fashion decreases

According to the most recent data from the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) initiative, the fashion industry's carbon footprint decreased little in 2022, despite the long-term trend continuing to rise.

Climate change expert Michael Sadowski predicts that the sector was responsible for 879 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in 2022, compared to 897 million tonnes in 2021, a 1.17% drop. This information is included in a fresh update on Aii's 2021 Roadmap to Net Zero study. /BGNES
