Magilla Entertainment has partnered with renowned fashion critic Hal Rubenstein to develop a documentary series titled Dressing the Part, exploring the influence of television on fashion over the past 70 years.
The series is based on Rubenstein's 2023 book, Dressing the Part: Television’s Most Stylish Shows, which highlights 50 TV shows that shaped fashion, such as Sex & the City, Bridgerton, and Mad Men.
The docuseries will feature insights from costume designers from iconic shows like Friends, Empire, and RuPaul's Drag Race.
Magilla co-founder Laura Palumbo Johnson emphasized the project's timely focus on the relationship between television and fashion, with Rubenstein as the ideal figure to lead it due to his expertise and access to the industry.
