Wearing a royal blue saree for Diwali, Akshata Murty made a case for sustainable fashion

Akshata Murty, the wife of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, has made a stylish impression on viewers. We find ourselves staring at her every time she leaves the house dressed traditionally. Recently, Akshata and her husband Rishi Sunak visited the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in London. It was one of those moments. On the final weekend of the general election, the cute couple went to the temple to pray. Akshata opted to don a royal blue silk saree for her holy visit. Since she had worn the same number during the Diwali celebrations the year before, it was her choice of sustainable fashion practices that caught our attention. The remarkable royal saree worn by Akshata Murty is a tribute to Indian culture. The six yards of elegance, with their elaborate gold embroidery on the borders and tassel embellishments on the pallu, captured the attention of onlookers. Akshata chose an elbow-sleeved blouse that matched, making a composed style statement. The blouse had an ethereal saree-inspired unique pattern that was echoed by gold brocade embroidery and a bateau neckline. The fashion designer pleated the pallu over her shoulder and wore the saree in the traditional manner.
Akshata styled her ethereal ensemble in a minimalistic manner. She accessorised her saree with gold hoops for earrings, a ring, and elaborate bangles. She chose loose, center-parted hair and a berry pink lip color to add some glam to her ensemble.
