Who Is Influencing Kendall Jenner's Coachella Style?

Unsurprisingly, Kendall Jenner's fashion sense is turning heads as she makes her way back to the desert!

The supermodel offered PEOPLE an exclusive first look at her Coachella wardrobe style after the premiere of her new FWRD edit at The Parker hotel in Palm Springs on Thursday night, officially kicking off festival season.

Wearing only items from FRWD, Jenner celebrated the release with pals such as Evan Mock and Fai Khadra. She donned a halter-top burgundy TOVE Eleanor Dress, which she accessorized with a matching red Kit Bag and The Row's strapped black Harlow Sandal.

Coachella veteran, who told PEOPLE exclusively that she wants to "feel comfortable while enjoying music I love" this season, is bringing the beauty and comfort of her FWRD collection to the music festival this year.

"I think that Coachella itself has evolved a lot and so have I," she says. "FWRD helps me accomplish that, which is why it is my one-stop shop!"

Though Jenner calls attention to the Khaite snakeskin belt from her latest edit as "the perfect desert accessory," she believes that the strong group acts on this year's Coachella roster are the source of inspiration for many of her festival ensembles.

"The lineup undoubtedly affects my appearance to some extent every year. Before his Saturday night performance, Jenner remarks, "Tyler [the Creator] and I have been friends for years, and I'm so excited to see him headline." "His overall vibe is giving me inspo for sure."

Coachella's focus on fashion has grown to be almost as synonymous with the event as the music since its founding in 1999. Many of the trends that have become Coachella mainstays over the years were defined by Jenner herself.

Chunky headpieces and belts from 2015, knee-length denim cutoffs from the same year, and, most notably, her macrame dress and space bun hairstyle from 2016 are among them.

"I loved all my pieces at the time that I wore them but would definitely not wear them today as they do not reflect my current style," Jenner told PEOPLE. "I feel that each look worked for what I was trying to accomplish at the time."

Specifically, how does she feel about the space buns? "Why not? Space buns, in my opinion, are a very simple method to switch up your appearance. "Let's revive the space bun," she exclaims.

However, Jenner concedes, "Nay," in regards to the headwear, particularly the floral crown craze that ruled Coachella mostly between 2012 and 2016. They were essential at the time, but I'm not sure I'm prepared for their complete resurgence."

With Lana Del Rey on the schedule, flower crowns are expected to make an unexpected return this year. As the Friday night headliner at Coachella, the singer of "Summertime Sadness" was always seen wearing the floral adornment.

Fans of Del Rey are expecting for a comeback from the singer in the form of a floral crown, but Jenner imagines her donning a specific item from FWRD. "For me, the Magda Burtrym dress is how I picture Lana!," she declares.

"I associate patterns and flowers with Lana. The model continues, "I think Lana would look amazing in this."

Thousands of people will descend on the desert to experience the unparalleled atmosphere of the music-filled weekend and its stellar roster, all in true Coachella manner. This year's Coachella headliners are Doja Cat, Del Rey, and Tyler, the Creator.

The singer of "Paint the Town Red" headlines the first weekend of the event, which runs from April 12–14 and April 19–21, on Sunday night. In addition, Gwen Stefani and her band No Doubt will perform live for the first time since 2015, fulfilling a long-term reunion pledge./BGNES
