Wool and cashmere: natural materials never go out of style

Italy - romantic, delicious and with a thousand-year history. At the beginning of each year, however, when the euphoria of the winter holidays subsides, a series of fashion holidays swirls on the boot. Over the past few days, Florence has hosted the largest show for classic and avant-garde menswear and accessories, Pitti Uomo.

A team of BGNES met with designers participating in the fashion forum, with whom they talked about the problems in the fashion industry and possible solutions in this field.

The designers united around the opinion that clothes should be made from natural materials, but also purposefully that everyone in the industry should work to change the thinking and perceptions of consumers.

Italian designer Nicola Mincoli told BGNES that they make their clothes by hand using wool and cashmere.

"We like to work with natural materials and use 100% wool," he noted. According to him, it is important to work only with natural materials when making clothes and stressed that people are tired of clothes from the so-called "fast fashion".

The designer expressed the opinion that more attention is needed from the state to the fashion industry, from the point of view of regulations and protection of competition. “We are a big industry, but no one cares about the fashion industry. There is no control over the online market, and there is a need for a serious one", believes Nikola Minkoli.

Pitti Uomo is the perfect place to get inspired to sew and make clothes," said Shade Akinoso from London.

According to the designer, the fashion industry needs to change in several directions: “I love clothes that are timeless. Personally, I think if I could change anything in the fashion industry, it would be the sustainability of clothing. People can go back to traditional clothes created with quality materials, wear them and incorporate them into today's dressing style. Less one-day clothes, more traditional, classic and quality clothes", she explained.

Designer Nikhil Rushi Mera from India also visited and participated in Pitti Uomo. He told BGNES that he is visiting the fashion event for the first time and is presenting India in its full glory.

According to Rushi Mera, globally there is more serious interest in how men's fashion is viewed. Mera explained that women have always had more choices in what to wear, while men have had a different situation. “In India, the interest in men's fashion is phenomenal. It's growing by about 27% every year," he revealed. The designer explained that fashion is constantly changing and said what he would like to change in the fashion industry. "What I want and hope to change is the way people think when it comes to fashion. "Here at Pitti Uomo, you see men dressed to their full glory, and I want men to be dressed like that every day," he said.

Uzbek designer Sukhrob Habib also advocated the idea that natural and quality materials should be introduced to more and more people and everywhere in the world. /BGNES
