An exclusive preview of Harry Styles' debut line for Pleasing

There has been a flurry of interest in Pleasing ever since Harry Styles straddled a Harley Davidson on the cover of Dazed to launch his brand. Now, the fledgling company, which has previously dealt mostly with cosmetics like perfumes and nail paint, is appropriately venturing into the ready-to-wear market with the debut of its summer collection at Selfridges. Styles' longtime stylist and Pleasing creative, Harry Lambert, has provided some unique behind-the-scenes photos from the collection's ad shot with Dazed Fashion to commemorate its release, Dazed reported.

The pictures feature models lounging around in trucker hats and tracksuits with a nod to the 1970s, all with repeating bright and cheery patterns. Regarding the bright clothing, Lambert informed us that "launching this type of collection in the summer felt most natural as this is the season where you're able to creativity play with color and joy so much more." "People feel most adventurous during this fun fashion time."

It's no accident that the collection was released on the eve of Pride month, as the ongoing rainbow pattern is not only associated with the nicer weather but also with queerness. "These vibrant, Pride-inspired allusions can be seen at work here because color, joy, a feeling of openness and warmth are part of our DNA and considerations when designing," says Lambert. "Queerness and joy, to me, come hand in hand." To see the entire gender-neutral summer collection, browse the gallery above or visit Pleasing.com to shop every piece.

This week's fashion highlights included Harry Styles and Alessandro Michele donning a new finance bro uniform, IDEA Books releasing a reissue honoring Norbert Schoerner's Y2K Prada shoots, photoshopping the best-dressed partygoers at Barcelona's "pervy" techno lesbian party, Lily-Rose Depp slaying the latest issue of ALL-IN magazine, Central Saint Martins BA Fashion students showcasing their end-of-year collections, and protestors for Palestine commandeering the catwalk show.
