Calvin Klein Collection names Veronica Leoni as its creative director

Calvin Klein is bringing Collection, which closed in 2019, back to the runway after a five-year hiatus. A new creative director will be appointed. Veronica Leoni will assume the post, according to the American fashion business, and she will debut her first collection for the house in 2025, reported Harper's BAZAAR.

Global brand president Eva Serrano remarked, "We are proud to name Veronica as creative director of Collection, the pinnacle expression of the Calvin Klein brand." "It was clear from our first conversations that Veronica’s life’s work had been preparing her for this moment and the opportunity to define a new era for Calvin Klein."

Leoni, the creator of Quira, a label renowned for its distinctive yet simple collections that are exhibited at Milan Fashion Week and sold in stores worldwide, is also a nominee for the LVMH Prize. She formerly collaborated extensively with Phoebe Philo, and her resume lists jobs at The Row, Celine, Jil Sander, and Moncler.

"I am confident that her purposeful approach to design and work ethic, combined with our shared values, will further enrich our iconic brand and result in a collection that resonates with our consumers around the world," Serrano said.

Calvin Klein has taken a new turn with the reopening of Collection, which shuttered in 2019 as the company turned its attention away from the red carpet and catwalk in favor of other business ventures. Raf Simons, who had served as creative director since 2016, resigned from his role a year earlier. Francisco Costa, who had led the organization since 2003, was replaced by him.

"I’m thrilled and honoured to have the opportunity to write a new chapter of the Calvin Klein story," Leoni stated. "For many years, Calvin Klein personified the concept of audacious self-expression; now, I'm ready to strengthen it by emphasizing flair and originality. I sincerely appreciate Eva Serrano's perspective and confidence. She is one of the most inspiring people in design that I have had the honor of meeting throughout my career."

In September, Leoni will start her new position, and in 2025, she will present her debut collection for the Calvin Klein Collection./BGNES
