Hilary Swank works with YesAnd, a clothing manufacturer, to create an eco-friendly Earth Day capsule

Hilary Swank, a mother of twins aged one, acknowledges that she spends a lot of time "in my robe!"

However, the two-time Oscar winner, mother, and businesswoman always chooses clothes from her closet that she is happy with. Swank values shopping from sustainable manufacturers and repurposing items from her own wardrobe, which explains why, reported People.

Her most recent endeavor supports this.

In collaboration with the style subscription service DailyLook, Swank and the ethical apparel brand YesAnd unveiled their limited-edition capsule collection on April 22nd, Earth Day.

Eight adaptable little black dresses and cardigans from the collection are comprised of the premium, incredibly soft, certified organic cotton that YesAnd has come to be recognized for.

"With this capsule, I want to invite people to make every dress a statement of purpose, championing the cause of sustainability with elegance and grace," Swank told PEOPLE. This demonstrates that fashion may be responsibly opulent and reasonably priced. You are not required to give up one for the other.

The collection, which retails for an average of $90, is only available on DailyLook. Subscribers may join up to get a box of carefully chosen, skillfully curated sustainable wardrobe staples.

"The DailyLook transcends a traditional styling service, and they're becoming a pioneer in personalized eco-conscious fashion in choosing brands like YesAnd and others to help be that beacon for people who don't have the ability to go do that research," Swank says.

This is Swank's debut initiative as a creative director, collaborator, and brand ambassador for EcoFashion, a "greenhouse" group of sustainable enterprises run by YesAnd founder Marci Zaroff. Swank's clothing line, Mission Statement, was acquired by EcoFashion earlier this year.

Swank describes her love for her work as follows: "It's not just about wearing fashion, it's about wearing your values on your sleeve and really joining a movement for a better world." "That's a big part of why Marci and I came together."

Swank claims that the initial capsule's main objective was to create a "buildable" collection that will fit in seamlessly with your existing wardrobe.

"I feel like black and neutrals are for sure the staples of our closet — those are interchangeable with anything," she continues. These are slip-on items that you can wear and move around your day with ease. You can wear them from day to night by simply switching up your footwear. I believe that's incredibly important for sustainability.

Swank says the limited-edition brand truly focuses on wearability and adaptability, and she advocates re-wearing in her daily life.

"I wear my favorite things over and over and over," she continues. Even with these dresses, when it's chilly, I'll just wear a tight with my dress and a turtleneck below. When the weather warms up later in the spring, you can remove your tights and turtleneck. You don't need to bring a ton of stuff when you travel. The concept is being able to purchase something that will benefit you greatly."

She goes on to say that it was crucial for her to reject the red carpet mindset of constantly changing into new clothes.

"My fashion philosophy is just to be thoughtful," she states. "I don't think I was as aware before of how many young people watch us in the spotlight and on the red carpet. I'm not even sure if this is intentional on our part, but it makes sense that they would think, 'Oh, I don't want to wear the same thing twice either,' since we never wear the same item twice. We constantly attend different events and go from one to the next. That simply isn't how life works in your day-to-day attire. It is a red carpet event".

As a busy mother of one-year-old twins, Aya and Ohm, Swank acknowledges that her current style is "extremely casual."

"With two being so young, it's almost like I put back on what I took off the next morning because it moves so quickly. Right now, it just has to be incredibly simple. And when I say that I wear my robe often, I mean it"./BGNES
