A joint venture agreement has been reached by Loop Industries and Ester Industries, makers of polymers, to establish a new unlimited Loop production facility in India. Loop Industries' technology allows for the unlimited chemical recycling of low-grade polyester.
It is anticipated that construction of the $165 million facility, which will create specialty polymers from waste and the polyester raw materials recycled dimethyl terephthalate (rDMT) and recycled mono-ethylene glycol (rMEG), will be finished by the end of 2026. Commercial operations are scheduled to start in early 2027. /BGNES
