The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan and Harry, made an uncommon public appearance on Thursday night at the 2024 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.
The couple sat down to watch the Dolby Theatre award event, which was hosted by Meghan's close friend Serena Williams. On the red carpet, the three of them even posed for photos together, reported Harper's BAZAAR.
In a white Staud gown with a backless cut, a draped halter neckline, and a floor-sweeping hemline, Meghan looked effortlessly elegant (the bridal-esque design is currently on sale and available to buy online, while a black and pastel yellow version are available at SSense and Net-a-Porter at 50% off).
She added just a couple gold diamond-encrusted rings, her iconic gold Cartier bracelet, and diamond stud earrings as her only accessories. Lastly, she added strappy black heels to complete the ensemble. In terms of makeup, she went for a natural look, tucking her black hair up into a chic bun in the middle.
Harry, the Duke of Sussex, looked dapper in a traditional black suit with a black tie and a white collared shirt.
Even though she went for a more glittery style, sporting star Serena Williams looked just as stunning in her own halterneck gown; her Ferragamo dress was almost fully covered in mirrored maroon scales. There was also wine-colored fringe tangled in the scales on the skirt.
Over the years, Williams and Markle have maintained a strong bond. The duchess and the tennis champion had a conversation on the first-ever Archetypes podcast episode back in 2022.
She is the best buddy I could ask for. "She's always there, through highs and lows, and that's all I want to be to her," the sportsman had previously stated of Meghan during a press conference in 2019.
