With 229 environmentally friendly factories, Bangladesh is a leader in sustainable fashion

With 229 internationally recognized eco-friendly factories, Bangladesh's apparel industry has solidified its leadership in sustainability and the green fashion revolution on a global scale.

Three additional RMG facilities in the nation have been recognized as "Green Factories," according to Mohiuddin Rubel, the head of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). Unitex Spinning Limited (Unit-2) is made up of the plants in Sitakunda, Chattogram; Sepal Garments Limited, Gazipur; and Ananta Huajing Limited, Narayanganj.

He claims that as a result of these advancements, Bangladesh's textile and apparel industry now includes 229 environmentally friendly factories.

The US Green Building Council (USGBC) has certified 91 of these businesses as LEED Platinum, while 124 manufacturers have achieved Gold, 10 have achieved Silver, and 4 have achieved Certified status.

A plant must score more than 80 out of 110 to receive the "Lead Platinum" certification, 60–79 for the "Lead Gold," 50–59 for the "Lead Silver," and 40–49 for the "Lead Certified" certificate in order to receive the US Green Building Council (USGBC) environmental friendly certification.

Bangladesh is home to 61 out of every 100 environmentally friendly factories worldwide, including nine of the top ten.
